28... really! (better late then never)

Posted by Picasa

I have a hard time believing that you are 28, time has a funny way of sneaking up on you...I still feel like I am in my early twenties and you still act like you are 16! I wanted to come up with 28 things we love about you but once again time has gotten away from us...so here are some of the many things that make you one special 28 year old!

  • Underneath that tough guy exterior you really are a softy.

  • We always feel safe when you are around.

  • You make up the best songs.
  • You look handsome with a shaved head.

  • You appreciate the great outdoors and I know our kids will learn to love them too...it will always be an adventure with you.

  • We will never go hungry...

  • You love your family and are loved by your family, as well as mine.
  • Lottie loves her dad...you are rather nice to snuggle with!

  • It doesn't take much to make you smile or laugh...(i snuck in a halloween pic cause I didn't blog about it...bad mom)

  • You are hardworking and smart...we are so proud of you and know that you will always take good care of your family.

  • You absolutely love being a dad.

It has been a busy summer!

This has been a fun summer filled with lots of laughs...good weather...good books, lots and lots of good books...GREAT company...and seeing some pretty cool things on this side of the world!

The summer has flown by. Dave is still doing great in school, they are keeping them very busy but he only has two more weeks to go till the term break then we are home to Raymond for a few weeks yah! and then it is on to the last 6 months!!!! That is such a nice thought.

Grandma and Grandpa Wood came to visit us for a couple of weeks and it was glorious...Lottie sure loved them and I think the feeling was pretty mutual. They took us everywhere and we loved every minute of it. Thanks again for taking such good care of us and we hope you enjoyed your little vacation.

Lottie is growing up way too fast...she is full of things to say even though we may not understand her all the time she can carry on quite the conversation. She says the usual things mom, dad, hi, bye, pretty, uh oh, no, cute, baby, dirty, lottie, hot, burr, bad, she knows what lots of animals say...her newest words are turtle, matt (our friend), for everything she says what is it...and the best one Happy...she says it so perfect. She is extremely busy and very sneaky. She still loves to dance, gets and gives princess kisses... if you haven't seen her do this she puts her hand out and leaves it there till you kiss it...we have no clue where she learned this but we love it and no matter what you are doing or where you are if she puts her hand out you better go to her and kiss it. She is taller than most kids her age and older...should I be worried? and the Bishop said she had big hands...should I be offended? I was a little about the hands what if she has man hands! I think she is a pretty petite little thing, I guess time will tell! We can't wait to see everyone, Lottie is going to be in heaven playing with all the cousins and friends in Raymond...See you all soon!

A lot of pictures coming your way...

What did we do this weekend you ask...

We went to a pig roast...yup. Daves only regret is he did not get to kill it himself. The whole thing was a little strange, slightly disturbing but surprisingly tasty. Thanks for the fun.

A little CAKE a lot of FUN our little LOTTIE is ONE!

I can hardly believe she is one. She is such a joy. Lottie's growing up so fast but we are having so much fun watching her learn and discover new things everyday. She is... walking, climbing up on everything, talking...she says birdie, mom, dad, hi, bye, Lottie, dirty, roars like a lion, moo's like a cow, says baa baa for her lamb, pants like a puppy and so on. She knows where her mouth, nose, and head are. She never and I mean never stops talking and making all kinds of noises. Lottie loves to dance, anytime music comes on she has to move her little body. She gave me one glorious week of sleeping through the night...no longer does that sniff sniff. She is easy to please and quick to smile and laugh. We love everything about you and have loved to watch you grow into the little person you are right now. Thanks for being the cutest and best little Lottie.

Big Baby...

I arrived back here in "The Big-O" on Monday afternoon to find our place just like we left it. The apartment was clean, cozy, and quiet.... too quiet actually. This is due to the fact that Ash and the bug stayed in the motherland for the Brady and Hollie wedding and shipped me back here, as school was starting up again. It is now Thursday night, and it feels like it has been a whole month! my bottom lip is actually getting fatigued as a result of the full time pouting that I have been doing since I got back here! I think that it should be unlawful to leave a man alone in Ottawa for any extended period of time! I have reached a pathetic state that I'm not sure I have ever been in before. It is called pathetic sadandlonelyitis.... a chronic condition that is most common in grown men who have an awesome cute wife and a little lady who seems to erase stresses and troubles just by smiling. I miss them both Big time when I come home at the end of the day.... and am excited for the end of the month when they will come home! Hopefully the symptoms remain as pouty complaining and don't progress to outbursts of crying. Ha ha... Dave P.

Too Cute For Words...

It doesn't mean your not beautiful...

Well... we are not going to New York to be a part of Regis and Kelly's beautiful baby contest darn it...the top ten where pretty cute, but I still think I have such a cute lady. She is already 9 months old which I find hard to believe...9 months of pregnancy felt so much longer. Lottie has such a fun personality, always happy and smiling... and never ever sits still. She loves playing with her dad but has to have her mom when she is tired or wants to cuddle, melts my heart a little and confuses dad a lot. She has already said her name, she is such a smart little girl, even if she didn't know that was what she was saying... it clearly was! She never stops talking and making such cute noises. If we distract her enough she will stand up by herself until she realizes whats going on, not like cousin Elle who already took a couple of steps but we will get there. Every time music comes on she has to dance...love it. She growls, its especially funny at church when it is all quiet...what? did that just come out of a baby? She has curly hair like mommas...oh I am so happy I hope it stays. She has the cutest little nose...thanks dad! and her eyes squint shut just like her dads when she smiles. Dave says that can be dangerous if you are trying to move at the same time, as the squint can impair your vision slightly! I could go on and on I am sure. We are so glad to have a happy healthy baby and we love her lots and lots! I just wish she would slow down a little, I am not ready to let her grow up. We are so excited to come home so you can enjoy Lottie as much as we do. See you in 18 days!!!!!
